Medgar Evers
July 1925 - June 1963
I had the privilege of visiting the home that Medgar Evers and his family lived in. It's crazy, because Medgar was murdered right in front of his home by a member of the Ku Klux Klan. The home was purchased by Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS and a film was made about Medgar's story "Ghosts of Mississippi".
Enjoy the pics:
The house of the Evers family.
The lovely tourist and I. Forgot her name, but she's awesome :)
Surrounded by good company.
A few pics I found online:
Mrs. Evers and the children
Myrlie Evers kissing her husband goodbye.
Too many soldiers have fallen. Time for more to rise up.
Happy Black History Month!
