Being a lady never goes out of style: Inspiration from Dorothy Dandridge

As a child I wanted to be an actress. Once I learned about Dorothy Dandridge, she instantly became an inspiration for me. Dandridge was one of the first Black actresses who paved the way for us Black actresses today. One thing about Dandridge that I always noticed was her classic style. As I continue to explore fashion and what works best for me, I can say that being a lady will always be in style.

Love the red flower, red lipstick, and red skirt.

This outfit is fun and mysterious. I wonder where was she. A Hollywood party?

This outfit is simple, yet chic. You can never go wrong with black & white. I'm also digging the sofa and lamp. Vintage baby.

Absolutely LOVE the bold lips.

Miss Dandridge knows how to wear an soft updo. I'm also loving her pose.

Respect the queen.

Black love at its best. I adore this cover, and I also adore Dorothy's dress. Simply beautiful.

Apparently diamonds really are a girl's best friend. From the diamond ring, to the diamond earrings, to the diamond bracelet, Dorothy is simply a doll.

This has always been my favorite picture of Miss Dandridge. She has on a average short sleeved blazer shirt, with beautiful curls in her hair. She isn't wearing a lot of makeup, her natural beauty is enough.

  1. I just adore Dorothy Dandridge. Too bad her life ended shortly.
